JOSH POLK

MT 2022

Hello! I am Josh Polk (he/him) a performer and educator with a B.A. in Musical Theatre from James Madison University. Though I am a proud member of the class of ‘22, I completed my coursework a semester early (Fall ‘21) and have spent my senior spring working full time as a teaching artist— bringing theatre education to my community in the Mill Mountain Conservatory and outreach program. My overall professional goal is to serve my community by creating accessible theatre that is welcoming and empowering to all. Combining my passions for theatre performance, education, and outreach, my work as a teaching artist has been deeply fulfilling.

Born and raised in the Blue Ridge Valley, music and storytelling have always been significant parts of my life. I am driven by human connection, which has fostered my love of sharing stories, dedication to my commitments, and passion for collaborative work. I am most passionate about theatre that reflects our ever-changing world and places an emphasis on equity and empowerment. My favorite performance credits include Musidorus in Head Over Heels, Antonio in Twelfth Night, and Jamie in Madison New Works Lab's The Pledge.

When I am not working, I love to hike, backpack on Virginia’s beautiful section of the AT, and keep up with NCAA women’s gymnastics.
